The Disability Belongs organization has announced the winners of its 2025 Disability Impact Awards, which honor individuals and organizations making a significant difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

Disability Belongs has announced the winners of its 2025 Disability Impact Awards, which recognize individuals and organizations making a significant difference in the lives of people with disabilities. The awards ceremony will take place on July 24, 2025, in Washington, D.C.

The winners of the awards are as follows; Congressman Steny Hoyer, who will receive the Steve Bartlett Award for his pivotal role in passing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990 and strengthening it in 2008. With over 42 years of service in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Hoyer has been a long-standing leader in disability rights.

Allison Hampton, who will receive the Ben Spangenberg and Justin Chappell Memorial Award for her tireless advocacy work, particularly in faith communities. After developing chronic illnesses in 2010, Allison founded Living Chronic Faith, a nonprofit supporting people with chronic health conditions. She also leads organizations helping youth and justice-involved individuals.

JPMorgan Chase, which will receive the inaugural Disability Champion Award for its ongoing commitment to disability inclusion. The company has made significant efforts to improve hiring practices, partnerships, and workplace accessibility. Dina Grilo, Vice President in the Office of Disability Affairs, will accept the award on behalf of the company, recognizing her work in building inclusive policies since 2016.

The awards honor leaders who drive systemic change, recognize advocacy work, and acknowledge organizations committed to disability inclusion. Disability Belongs started these awards in 2022 to celebrate efforts that make a lasting positive impact on the disability community. The winners will be recognized at the ceremony in July, highlighting their contributions to creating a more inclusive society.
